The EXMO cryptocurrency exchange lost 6% of its total assets as a result of the hack on December 21, according to an interim report.

Initially, it was about the loss of about 5% of funds. The total damage in dollar terms is still being calculated.

According to EXMO, the attacker sent the bulk of the stolen bitcoins to one address. There is 306.99 BTC stored there (about $7.2 million at the time of writing).

Representatives of the exchange assured that the balances on users’ accounts were not affected as a result of the attack. It is planned to restore the deposit and withdrawal of funds on December 24, 2020.

Recall that on December 21, an unknown person withdrew funds in bitcoin, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Tether, Zcash and XRP from hot wallets on the EXMO exchange. According to preliminary estimates, the damage amounted to $10.5 million.
